CONTRIBUTIONS

Reports must include:
  - Name, address, date and place of employment of all contributors that exceed $100 in the aggregate in a calendar year.

- Contributors must be listed in alphabetical order by last name

- If a contributor has a suffix included as part of his name (e.g..Jr., Sr., II) the report must specify this.

Any funds that remain can be maintained in a campaign account and reported quarterly. To close a campaign that still has funds, a candidate may:

1) Donate to another candidate for public office
2) Donate to a PAC or political party
3) Donate to the State of RI
4) Donate to charity
5) Return to donors

THE PERSONAL USE OF CAMPAIGN FUNDS IS PROHIBITED

CONTRIBUTIONS OF OVER $25.00 IN CASH FROM A SINGLE SOURCE IN A CALENDAR YEAR IS PROHIBITED

CONTRIBUTIONS FROM OTHER THAN AN INDIVIDUAL, REGISTERED POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE (PAC) OR A POLITICAL PARTY ARE PROHIBITED

ANONYMOUS CONTRIBUTIONS ARE PROHIBITED

§17-25-13 PENALTIES
Any person who violates the provisions of RIGL §17-25 shall
upon conviction be guilty of a petty misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than one thousand      
dollars ($1,000) per violation.
LATE FILING FEE: $25.00 and $2.00 a day after notification.
EXPENDITURES:

Reports must include:
- Payee, address, date of all expenditures that exceed $100 in a calendar year.

- Credit card expenses must be recorded in detail and list all vendors paid via the credit card.

Reports must be LEGIBLE and NOTARIZED
